New Business Contacts

The Chamber can put you in touch with hundreds of people who are potential new clients or customers. Every minute you invest or become involved with the Chamber provides opportunities to network. Here are just a few examples:

  • Monthly General Membership Meetings bring together between 120 and 150 Chamber members and provide information about what's happening at the Chamber and in the area. Our monthly meetings have a variety of speakers that cover various topics that will benefit your business.
  • Chamber Committees offer members the opportunity to work on projects with other business people who have similar interests
  • Special Events provide segments of our membership the opportunity to showcase their business, services and products to the community and other business members through event like our Savor Taste Event, Bridal Bliss Showcase, The Home & Garden Show and GolfClassic.
  • After Hour Business Card Exchanges are free events held monthly to bring members together for both business and pleasure. Typically held at host member businesses, attendees network in a relaxed Happy Hour type setting.
  • Morning Networking Coffee are for those that want to start the day with a perk, we offer the morning coffees where members visit and mingle over a cup of coffee and breakfast.
  • The Annual Awards Banquet each year in December, recognizes and honors those that have given so much of their time and talents to the chamber.

Publicity and Exposure

The Chamber promotes businesses members to the public and the business community in several ways:

  • Here on the Chamber's web site you find valuable information about St. Peters and the business community. All Chamber members are listed in our easy to use Online Membership Directory complete with a free link to your business web site.
  • Chamber Report, the Chamber's monthly newsletter highlights member information and keeps you up to date on Chamber activities and committees. Low cost advertising in the Chamber Report and other free promotional opportunities allow you to reach Chamber business leaders every other month.
  • The Buyer's Guide & Membership Directory lists your business by name and by business classification. This publication is not only distributed to every Chamber member, but is also distributed to every single family dwelling in the city of St. Peters.

Through membership, our members are able to enhance their credibility and recognition. A recent study showed that consumers had a better perception of businesses who were members of their local Chamber of Commerce.

  • Annual Home & Garden and Great Outdoors Show tailors to all aspects of home improvement, gardening and adventures for the great outdoors. This two day event allows exhibitors to showcases products and services for all home improvement projects and outdoor recreation. Each year this event provides our community information about businesses in their own area that provide the products and services needed for home projects helping our local economy by shopping close to home.
  • Event Sponsorships are a great way to build the exposure of your business to the community. The Chamber staff can work with you to find the event that best fits your goals. Sponsorships give you the opportunity to shine the spotlight on your products and services to the community and other Chamber members.
  • Ribbon Cutting & Ground Breaking Ceremonies are conducted by the Chamber Ambassadors for new or expanding businesses offering the business great marketing opportunities to expand the visibility and awareness of their business and to take advantage of the press release and photo the Chamber send to area publications. Businesses find this a great way to introduce new people to their location and services.
  • General Membership Meetings have promotional opportunities for your business including a meeting sponsorship which offers a five minute presentation about your business, or an inexpensive presentational style 1 minute commercial, or a free expo table for presentation materials. The Chamber is dedicated to improving your ability to achieve success in your business or professional life. Programs include

Referrals

The Chamber receives hundreds of calls each month and thousands of requests each year for goods & services to be purchased in our area. We refer Chamber members to visitors, newcomers, businesses, and area residents by using our online Directory and the printed Buyer's Guide & Membership Directory. By displaying Chamber member window/door decals, our members enhance their credibility and recognition. A recent study showed that consumers had a better perception of businesses who were members of their local Chamber of Commerce. When the public refers to our website or call our office they will get information about member businesses. All requests are first referred to members as top priority.

Influence Legislation

The Chamber is a unified voice representing your business interest at the local, state, and federal levels of government. While many benefits are intangible, you will be informed on legislative issues and the Chamber works on your behalf for a positive business environment. The Chamber works on the behalf of our business community. Striving for a positive business environment that enhances the growth of our economic base and community, making St. Peters a great place to grow your business and your family. You can learn more about what legislation will affect your business and community by attending the Transportation Economic Development and Governmental Concerns Committee (TEDGA) meeting each month. City, State and Federal representatives give updates as well as inform us of Economic Development in our area.
